This is not just about the San Diego River, this is every river, every stream, every watershed. It’s depressing and disgusting how inconsiderate people are. There are no excuses. To top it off, San Diego is broke, how much did this cost taxpayers?
SAN DIEGO — Nearly five tons of garbage was removed from the San Diego River bed in Mission Valley during cleanup events over the last couple of weeks, Councilwoman Lorie Zapf said Tuesday.
The refuse removal focused on areas near Qualcomm Stadium and the overpasses of state Route 163 and Interstate 805, according to Zapf.
