Farmers Markets- Kentucky

Eat Local and the best place to go- is your local Farmers Market: To find one, click on any of the links below to find a Market near You. Good Eating!

State Directory

Kentucky Agriculture

Kentucky Farm Bureau Kentucky Farm Bureau certifies and provides promotion for roadside farm markets in Kentucky which meet established standards for the program. The program allows the market operators to obtain statewide advertising as a way to expand their market areas and increase sales. It also provides customers assurance that the certified markets offer the highest quality fruits and vegetables, many of which are grown on the same farms where the markets are located. An annual directory of certified markets is distributed through state parks and tourism outlets as a convenience to consumers.

Kentucky Farmers Markets The Kentucky Farmers Market Association was formed in 2006 after farmers’ market summits held by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. These summits brought farmers’ market managers and sellers together for two days to discuss issues and learn from each other. It became readily apparent that the time was ripe to form a statewide association to continue these conversations and give a voice to Kentucky’s farmers’ markets.

The Association seeks to provide a conduit for individuals and markets from across the Commonwealth to share information and support. By organizing, farmers and markets have gained a voice in decisions being made about our industry, as well increased buying power and a stronger position for negotiations.

The KFMA achieved 501(c)(6) non-profit status with the IRS in January 2008.
