If you really look at the "compact" agreement itself you'll realize it is only an empty promise by a company to clean up its act. The basic criteria is a promise not to use ingredients that are the worst offenders which, btw, no one uses anyway, and are often already banned. They also promise to comply with Europe's cosmetic regulations which, incidentally allow certain parabens and phthalates. There is practically no oversite of compliance by the Campaign and even compliance with these goals is no guarantee that you won't find undesirable synthetics in a company's products. Far better would be to look for a natural product certified under a demanding guideline such as BDIH, NaTrue, NSF or NPA, though NPA does allow some transitional 'baddies' like quaternium ammonium compounds through 2012. But don't assume a "green" or "organic" cosmetic certificaion bars use of petroleum derived synthetics! The popular Ecocert organic as well as the new COSMOS EU organic certifcations DO NOT! In fact, they allow between 2 and 5% petroleum derived in their highest "Organic" level!!

I love Organic Apoteke! I have never found a range that is alcohol free and a cosmeceutical. Its amazing, you can actually feel it tingling when it works on your skin and you notice the difference in your skin the next day! My friends all told me how good i was looking. I must admit that at first i thought the creams were very light in texture, but i am proof that they sure are EFFECTIVE. Thanks Organic Apoteke & Compact for Safe Cosmetics
