E-Waste- Lost Cell Phones

Does losing a cell phone have to do with being Eco-Friendly? If you think about it, where do those phones go? In the trash somewhere, even if they get ripped off- the thief uses it and just throws it in some trash. 

I just Gotta Tell Ya: 

  • US- 12,000,000 cell phones lost
  • US- 700,000 phones are stolen annually. 
  • UK- 4% of people have been victims of stolen cell phones. 
  • UK- An estimated 600,000 dropped mobile phones down the loo
  • UK- 400,000 dropped mobile phones in a drink 
  • UK- 200,000 Accidently washed their mobile phones 
  • UK- 100,000 mobiles phones are lost or stolen every month. 
  • UK- 70,000 phones are reported damaged 
  • Australia- estimated 100,000 cell phones are lost or stolen each year 
  • Canada- 10% of customer have lost, stolen or damaged phone 
  • Ireland- 2,000 mobile phones are lost or stolen every week
