Another action sports leader in the development of eco friendly products is BambooSK8. Bamboo SK8 manufacturers Skateboard decks out of renewable bamboo. These decks are lightweight and stronger than maple decks. According to BambooSk8 ‘the process allows the molecular fibers of the bamboo to be pressed under intense pressure creating supreme stiffness and resilience within the deck. The combination of these features creates a highly responsive deck with a long lasting pop, while producing absolutely zero splinters.’
What I really like- is what they are trying to achieve ‘zero waste and cradle to cradle manufacturing. In fact the proudly display their carbon footprint on their website;
Other Green Factors:
- Use water based glue= no toxic VOC’s released
- Production Waste is recycled into other bamboo products (saves landfills)
- Maximized container loads( saving transportation pollution)
- Donate broken and worn out boards/decks to low income families, charities or local artists to be reused.
- 15 of profits are given back to charities
- 100% of office furniture came from Craigslist (reuse and recycle)
- Recycle program in office and homes and try not to print.

what those companies are doing for our enviorment is a great thing. especially the bamboo skates, they’ve finaly found a formula for stronger lighter bored and its all from bamboo trees. astounding

bamboo the perfect wood for decks as it is flexable strong and durable as for enviromental reasons for its use it regrows much faster than other common hardwoods so not only is it economical but it has a variety of uses not only for sk8 board decks but for skim boards and snowboards as well

i have always just skated for fun, i have never really taken it that seriously. that being said, i always rode maple boards from a local shop, like pacific drive. then when i tired bamboo, it was like nothing i have skaed before. i have tried maple again since, and i still love it. however, i dont feel the same unless im on a bamboo board. oh and did i mention its environmentally freindly. i think it takes like 50 years to grow a maple tree, and like 2 for bamboo.

i have just recently purchased a bamboo sk8 deck. its light, great pop, and eco friendly because bamboo grows faster than normal wood that takes a longer time to grow. iv heard people say “well. its i havent heard of the company, its sucks”. haha yeah right. i garentee in a year, this will be bigger than element or planb. and youll get to say ” i was buying these before it was popular.” overall. you will be totally satisfyed with this. go out and buy one children.

What could I say, Bamboo Sk8 is the best board i’ve ever rode/had.They are made out of 100% Bamboo and are really strong. Other decks are made out of “Maple” or other things,but bamboo is the stronger and better for the enviorment grow faster than trees. They are only $28.00 and these decks are good quality.
