Junk Mail Update from Forest Ethics

5 November, 2008 (09:04) | Junk Mail

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I get a lot of press Releases- some I pass on and other’s I delete-  but this one, I’m passing on because I hate junk Mail. This is the most Recent from Forest Ethics

This is a truly historic day for our nation. Change is on the way, and we need to make sure that a Do Not Mail Registry is part of it.

Thanks to your continued support, we’re building enormous momentum for a national Do Not Mail Registry. Now, we need to ramp up the campaign by holding major junk mail companies publicly accountable.

Can you donate $25, $50 or $100 to help us expose the destructive environmental practices of major junk mailers?

In some ways, junk mail is all the same: it’s all annoying and it’s an invasion of our privacy. But when it comes to its impact on our forests, there are important differences. Some companies demand things like Endangered Forest protection, recycled content and sustainable sourcing for their paper–and some companies couldn’t care less.

Your continued support will allow us to produce a report on the paper practices of major junk mailers. We produced similar, holiday-themed reports last year and the year before on the catalog industry, and they helped us transform the practices of Victoria’s Secret, J. Crew, Eddie Bauer and L.L. Bean. Now, we want to deliver a message to the entire junk mail industry by expanding our report beyond just the catalog sector–but we need your help.

Please give $25, $50 or $100 to help us produce and promote an exposé on the junk mail industry.

Over the past 15 years, ForestEthics has transformed the environmental policies of dozens of major corporations. With your continued support, we can take on major junk mail companies–and ramp up the momentum for a Do Not Mail Registry.

With thanks,
