TOP 14 THINGS YOU CAN DO TO SAVE LANDSCAPING WATER 

1.) Water less 

2.) Water before 6 am and after 8 pm to reduce evaportation 

Savings: 20-25 Gallons per day 

3.) Aerate lawn by punching holes about 6 inches apart

4.) Apply 3 inches of mulch around trees and plants to retain moisture longer 

Savings: 20-30 gallons per day per 1,000 square feet 

5.) Reduce each Irrigation Cycle by 1-3 minutes and eliminate 1 irrigation cycle per week. 

6.) Water only when after the top inch of soil is dry.

7.) Reset irrigation controllers and replace batteries in the spring and fall.
