I had listed some of these on a previous post, but as research continues to develop, more and more exciting choices become available. I will continue to update as research continues! Listed here are some comments about the various countertops from Get with Green:
1.) Alkemi: Made from fine flake aluminum milling scrap,
2.) Anne Sacks : Designer who offers many eco design options
3.) Bamboo: You can buy bamboo anywhere, but recommended are FSC certified Bamboo dealers. such as Smith and Fong Plyboo. Bamboo can be used for flooring, counter-tops, wall surfacing, clothing and accessories, sinks, furniture, drapes, panels and more
4.) Butcher Block: You can buy butcher block from many sources, including IKEA but Teragren is one of the top resources.

5.) CaesarStone: you can find this anywhere, including Home Depot and Lowes. (Dealer locator on Website)
6.) Durat: Solid Polyester based material used for custom made surfaces. Contains 100% recycled plastics and it is 100% recycled.

7.) Earthcrete: Made by Sonoma Stone- Composed of concrete recycled paper fibers, glass, ceramics and industrial by products. 1/2 the weight of cement.

8.) EcoTop: Made by Klip BioTechnologies: FSC certified 50/50 blend of bamboo fiber from recycled wood fiber salvaged from demolition sites. Both Petroleum and VOC frees. LEEDS Certified

9.) Eleek: Sustainable Company using recycled metals, post consumer content. 80% of supplies are bought locally and salvage as much as possible.

10.) EnviroGlass: Terrazzo type made with recycled products, glass, toilets, etc.

11.) Fuez: Environmentally Friendly Concrete : Terrazzo type, fusion of concrete and recycled glass.

12.) Gilasi: Terrazzo type of counter-top using 81% recycled material. Materials are sourced locally in Chicago.

14.) Lithistone: Magnesium based ceramic cement that is environmentally friendly, non-toxic cast stone medium that can be used in place of concrete, tile, natural stone and porcelain. . Products contain between 25-75% recycled and post industrial waste.

- Am just referring to a company here without a full report, sorry.
17.) Paperstone: Made from post consumer waste, recycled paper.
- LEEDS, FSC, Smartwood and Rainforest Alliance Certified.

18.) Grenite: ceramic/resin mix.UP to 85% can be post industrial waste.

19.) Richlite: Manufacture of paper based fiber composites used for, a variety of waste.

28.) Eco Marmo :Re-composed stone material, produced by recycling waste materials from marble and limestone quarry sties. (Unfortunately they are in Australia) might have dealers here though.
