I received an email from New Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Sumner, Washington. This is the 3rd coffee roaster who has contacted me with the exact same problem, how to recycle their burlap bags. I did an article Recycled Burlap for Upholstery which is one way to reuse burlap bags. Hopefully others have some other ideas.
Anyway- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters wants to recycle their burlap bags, so if anyone is interested please contact
Andrew.Hazen@gmcr.com and let him know, you want the burlap.

I have the same question from the same company…so..if you receive any responses on what to do with Green Mountain’s burlap issue can you please e-mail it to me. I am located in Knoxville, TN.
Thanks,
Megan

I am looking for used burlap sacks to put around firewood. How do I go about locating it?
Thank you
Julie
Try contacting your local coffee shop, most coffee comes in burlap.
Julie, we have used burlap bags but we sell by the ton. How much do you need?
Shelly
I am looking for several tons of burlap bags. Could you tell me how much you sell a ton for. Thanks.
Jason
I don’t sell burlap bags, but perhaps contact your local coffee roaster.
Some landscaping companies use old or torn burlap bags for wrapping root balls when planting trees along the freeways in California. Just another thought for those looking to recycle the bags.
Hi Jason,
We have several tons available for sale at $150/ton (about 1000 bags to a ton). Please call me at 510-494-2060 for more information.
Thanks so much for your inquiry and interest.
Best regards,
shelly

Hello,
I am in need of all the bags you can give away. I volunteer for a brand new botanical garden in Auburn, it’s called Soos Creek Botanical Garden (sooscreekbotanicalgarden.org). We are non-profit and have approx. 20 acres that we are gearing up to open to the public come July 2011. We could really use these excess bags for all sorts of things.
Please email me if you can help – so appreciated!
Trish
